Design Process
There are a few key steps in the design process, and it all starts with a detailed creative brief provided by you, "the client". This will insure that we are all on the same page when it is time to start the project.
To assure our clients do not overspend their budget, we offer fixed fee pricing per project. After learning of the specifications and complexity of the job through the design brief, we will develop a quote based on an estimate of the number of hours the project will likely take. This rewards my clients with the knowledge that no matter how many stages of editing come into play, or how long the project lasts, the price will not inflate from the original quote. However, if the design brief changes after the initial quote is signed, additional fees will be charged at an hourly rate.
1. The Creative Brief
All jobs require a creative brief to be completed, providing DESIGNERSPLASH Avenue with background information and the specifications of the job. This information is used to develop a clear insight into the entirety of the project and allows me to develop an informed and accurate quote. It's important to provide as much information as possible in the design brief in order for a comprehensive approach towards research and brainstorming. The creative brief is completed online in the form of a short questionnaire. As soon as this has been received, if necessary, DESIGNERSPLASH Avenue will contact you with any follow up questions about your project. A quote and project agreement will be developed and emailed to you as a PDF document. If accepted, these documents will be signed by both DESIGNERSPLASH Avenue and the client and a 50% non-refundable deposit will be paid to DESIGNERSPLASH Avenue by credit/debit, or by PayPal.
2. Prototype Designs
As soon as the quote and contract have been signed and a 50% non refundable deposit paid, the process of designing your artwork will begin. The client will provide DESIGNERSPLASH Avenue with any related copy, images and samples of work that they like. If an overview meeting is required, this will take place now. A small amount of time is dedicated to research into the specific area in which the design is focused so that any outcome is educated and appropriate. Sketching is an excellent way to quickly explore a multitude of concepts in a short period of time. After several ideas have been generated through sketching, these will be reproduced in the latest design software and create the first set of prototypes. When complete - these first submissions will be emailed to you for review with a short explanation of why I believe they will work for this project.
3. Review and Editing
After reviewing your opinions and suggestions, typically one or two concepts will be worked on further, refining certain elements such as color and typography. However, if it's thought that the design is not right for development; further new ideas will be created. This process of designing and review will continue until you are satisfied with the artwork. There is no limit on the number of revisions you request, unlike most design companies where you are limited to a specific number of reviews. We will work until you are completely content with the final artwork.
